It has been about two years now, that we learned Universal
was eager to revamp there monster classic movies, and
revive them into a shared cinematic universe.
This sounded very appealing to me, until I found out that
the people behind producing the project, where the people
behind two franchise's that I absolutely loath, that been
Transformers and The Fast And Furious.
Alex Kurtzman (Transformers) and Chris Morgan
(Fast & Furious) have spoked to Variety and opened up
about their intentions with the films and how they're
currently working on establishing it.
“This is not a heightened world,” Morgan says. “We’re exploring issues of family identity and questions of, ‘Where do I belong in the world?’ ”
“We’re creating a mythology, so we’re looking at this canon and thinking, ‘What are the rules?’ ” Kurtzman added. “What can we break and what are the ones that are untouchable? The idea is that we have a deep bench of brains to consult with about how their monster fits into our world as we go forward.”
“The characters will interact with each other across movies,” says Donna Langley, chair of Universal Pictures. “We’re incubating it at the moment, and we’re taking the time to get it right.”
I do hope that they bring the franchise back with a bang,
because even though dated, there is a place in a lot of
People's hearts for these monsters, even my 6 year old
daughter loves the old monster movies, I hope they just do
not destroy it.
