The ‘Minecraft’ Director Is Rob McElhenney of ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’

source: slashfilm

Way way back, Shawn Levy was originally set to direct the

movie version of the popular game Mindcraft. Levy left the

project in December 2014 abruptly. It is believed that he

left the project because the story that he came up with was

what he called and adventure movie with

''a bit of Goonies flair'', this wasn't what Mojang wanted.

Anyone who plays the game and has a foot in the gaming

world, or who have childten in schools will know about

Minecraft. The sandbox vidoe game which allows players

to build and explore worlds, which has relatively few rules.

The freedom aspect of the game is what is making the

movie adaptation particularly difficult.

But now the movie adaptation as a new director

Rob McElhenney, McElhenney is co-creator and star of the

hit US show ''It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia''.

So What will the movie be?

Well with McElhenney on board, it is safe to say that it will

be a comedy.

What are your thoughts? Let us know.
